Popper Asia Created the Speed Collector Racing Game for Peroni with qiksense
The Challenge
Creative agency Popper Asia created the Speed Collector for its client Peroni Nastro Azzurro, a racing game at the Peroni booth in Far East Square from 7 to 9 October 2026, during Grand Prix Season Singapore 2026. Guests who bought a pint of Peroni could play for a free bottle opener, and the top of the leaderboard stood a chance to win a year's supply of Peroni.
It is not the first time Popper Asia has used qiksense. Popper Asia previously built an F1 commentary booth for beIN SPORTS, created a Coconut White Coffee Scream Challenge for FairPrice, powered a Sunset Vibe music booth for Aperol Spritz and created a pedal-powered Lights Out Challenge for Audi and adidas.
Popper Asia needed an experience that could:
- Tie in with the race season through a game guests could steer like a car
- Bring the Peroni brand into the game itself, with a race season theme
- Keep a leaderboard for the top prize, a year's supply of Peroni

The Solution
To achieve this, Popper Asia used the qiksense platform as the software behind a customised Lane Runner racing game, steered with a racing wheel in front of a 43-inch touchscreen. The game was built from the client's own screen designs, from the Peroni blue to the checkered flag.

The experience followed a simple journey:
- Guests tapped TAP TO START on the screen in Popper Asia's booth
- A How to Play screen showed the two things to collect, a Peroni bottle for 5 points and a Speed Boost for 3 extra seconds
- A 3, 2, 1 countdown ran inside a glowing ring
- For 30 seconds, they turned the wheel left and right to collect bottles on the road
- The result screen showed their score with "Great run! See where you rank."
- The leaderboard showed the top 10, and a player who made it in could type their name

Engage Module: Speed Collector Racing Game
In the game, a road runs towards the guest and they steer between its lanes. The bottom of the screen showed the inside of a car, a steering wheel and a Peroni dashboard, so guests saw the road from the driver's seat.
Popper Asia set the game up around the brand:
- A two-lane road, with Peroni bottles to collect for 5 points each
- A stopwatch Speed Boost that added 3 seconds to the clock and doubled the speed of the road for 3 seconds
- A "+5 PTS" or "SPEED BOOST + 3 SEC" label above the car with every pick-up, in the Peroni typeface
- No obstacles, so every guest finished the run and got a score
The Speed Boosts made each run a little different. A guest who caught them all could keep driving for longer and collect more bottles than one who missed them.

A Racing Wheel Instead of a Touch Screen
Most screen games are played with a tap. At the Speed Collector, guests held a racing wheel mounted in front of the screen. One turn of the wheel moved the car one lane to the left or right, so guests steered towards each bottle the way they would steer a car.
The game can also be played with arrows on the screen or a touch on either side, and it can take physical buttons or a racing wheel. Here the wheel turned a quick game at the bar into something that felt like a drive.

Reward Module: Score and Leaderboard
Straight after each run, the result screen showed the player's score inside a ring, with the line "Great run! See where you rank." and a button to view the leaderboard. The leaderboard showed the top 10 scores. A guest who made it into the top 10 could tap the pencil on their row and type their name, so the best drivers were on the screen for everyone at the booth to see.

Turning a Pint Into a Turn at the Wheel
The Speed Collector was part of a simple offer, printed on a poster at the booth. Guests bought a pint of Peroni, played the game, and won a free bottle opener for completing it. The players at the top of the leaderboard stood a chance to win a year's supply of Peroni. The prizes were Peroni's, and the game gave every pint a reason to step up to the wheel.

The Result
Using qiksense, Popper Asia gave Peroni a racing game that turned a pint at Far East Square into a drive for the top of the leaderboard during Grand Prix Season Singapore.
A Game Guests Could Steer
The racing wheel made the game feel closer to driving than to tapping a screen. Guests saw the road from a Peroni-branded car on the screen and steered it with their own hands, which suited a booth built for the race season.
A Reason to Order a Pint
Every pint came with a turn at the wheel and a prize for finishing, so the game gave guests one more reason to order a Peroni and stay at the booth a little longer.
A Leaderboard Worth Chasing
The top 10 stayed on the screen between runs, so every new player could see the score to beat. Guests who wanted a place at the top could play again and try for a higher score.
